Indiana Electric Cooperatives (IEC) named Timothy J. Rushenberg to lead its government relations team. Rushenberg will serve as the association’s vice president of government relations.
Rushenberg will lead the association’s state and federal governmental relations efforts, which includes lobbying, political action and grassroots initiatives.
“Tim is a respected government relations professional,” said John Gasstrom, CEO of IEC. “His grasp of the energy industry and membership-based associations will be an asset to our 38 member cooperatives as they meet the challenges facing our industry and work to improve the overall economic health and quality of life in the communities we serve.”
Rushenberg was most recently vice president of the Indiana Energy Association, the state’s trade association of the 14 investor-owned electric and natural gas utilities. His professional background also includes positions with the Indiana Manufacturers Association and the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance. He was also a U.S Air Force assistant staff judge advocate.
Rushenberg is a graduate of Indiana University South Bend with a degree in political science and the Valparaiso University School of Law. He also served four years in the United States Air Force.
