Page Day

Page Day with the Indiana Senate gives students an opportunity to learn about their state government and how bills become law. Highlights include a Statehouse tour, mock bill activity, speakers and other educational activities. Students may have the opportunity to see the Indiana Legislature in action and meet their legislator.

The program is open to high school students who have reliable transportation to and from the Indiana Statehouse. Page Day is considered an excused absence and a school excuse letter will be sent home with the student.

Students have two opportunities in 2024: January 24 and February 20.

2024 Application

Applications for 2024 Page Day close on January 5, 2024.

This year, we are offering two options for Page Day.

Wednesday, January 24, 2024: IEC Group Page Day experience. We will take a tour of the Statehouse, do an activity about how a bill becomes a law in the state senate chamber if possible, speak with state officials, attend a committee meeting, and have lunch in the cafeteria.

Tuesday, February 20, 2024: More of a traditional paging experience. Participants will still tour the Statehouse, learn about how bills become laws, and have lunch in the cafeteria, but the State Senate will be in session, and participants will act as runners for senators during session.
