Indiana Electric Cooperatives (IEC) named Rebecca Strait to its regulatory compliance team. She will serve as a regulatory consultant for the association.

As a regulatory consultant, Strait is responsible for supporting the efforts of member cooperatives to comply with federal, state and local regulations. She will do this by helping cooperatives develop and implement compliance policies and programs, providing regulatory training and guidance, maintaining regulatory documentation, facilitating regulatory auditing and submitting required reports to ensure participating cooperatives maintain compliance with established standards.

Strait will serve as the regulatory consultant for Carroll White REMC, Fulton County REMC, Jasper County REMC, Kankakee Valley REMC, Marshall County REMC and Miami-Cass REMC.

“We are excited to have Becky as a member of our team,” said Jon Elkins, vice president of safety, training and compliance at Indiana Electric Cooperatives. “Her experience in the electric utility industry and in-depth knowledge of electric cooperatives will be a true asset to our member cooperatives.”

Strait was previously a safety program manager at Indiana University’s Office of the Vice President for Capital Planning and Facilities where she was responsible for providing safety and health leadership for university construction and facility operations teams on the eight IU campuses. She also worked for 10 years as a corporate safety specialist at Hoosier Energy and 13 years at IPL as a regional manager of occupational health and safety.

Strait graduated from Indiana State University with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in life sciences.
