When we are united in purpose, our strengths of leadership, engagement, advocacy, development, and safety come together to create meaningful, lasting impact. Although each of us may bring different priorities, perspectives, and methods, we share the common goal of empowering the communities we serve. By aligning our actions with a deep and purposeful commitment, we amplify our collective influence and open the door to stronger engagement and greater opportunities. Working together allows us to break down barriers, eliminate distractions, and stay focused on what truly matters. In doing so, we cultivate environments that foster growth, development, and connection. Through unity of purpose, we not only uplift our communities but also strengthen our shared ability to lead, support, and inspire lasting change.
Indiana’s electric cooperatives will come together in downtown Indianapolis for the 2025 IEC Annual Meeting on December 8–9 at the JW Marriott. The two-day gathering will be filled with opportunities for leadership development, industry education, networking, and celebration — all centered around our shared purpose of serving and empowering cooperative communities across the state.
The event begins Monday morning with a warm welcome from IEC CEO John Cassady and IEC Board President Steve McMichael. Attendees will also hear from this year’s Youth Leadership Council delegate, Meredith Anderson of Tipmont, as she begins her role representing Indiana’s cooperative youth at the national level.
Throughout the day, cooperative leaders will participate in forward-looking sessions designed to strengthen safety, resilience, and reliability in our evolving energy environment. These sessions include important discussions about mental readiness in high-risk work environments, insights on shaping the future of cooperative energy systems, and a conversation on ensuring the regional power grid remains reliable as market forces and policy continue to shift.
Later in the afternoon, nationally recognized speaker Lindsay Boccardo will encourage attendees to embrace change and remain united in their organizational purpose as the industry continues to transform.
The annual recognition banquet on Monday evening will honor employees and directors for milestone achievements, professional accomplishments, and their deep commitment to the cooperative mission. The celebration will also spotlight the 2025 Youth Power and Hope Award recipients, a group of remarkable students making a difference in their local communities.
Day two transitions to focused cooperative business, including concluding remarks celebrating what it means to be united in purpose, followed by a preview of IEC’s upcoming strategic planning process. The annual business meetings of IEC, Project Indiana, and the State and Federal PACs will take place, along with regional director breakout sessions.
As we gather once again to share ideas, celebrate achievements, and strengthen our network, this year’s theme reminds us that our greatest impact is made when we work together. United in purpose, we continue to lead, empower, and elevate the communities we proudly serve.
