Lock Named REAP Director

IEC named Adam Lock the apprenticeship training program director.

In this role, he will provide leadership and stewardship over the Rural Electric Apprenticeship Program (REAP) by integrating technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and hands-on instruction to develop competent safety-focused utility professionals. 

“We are excited to announce Adam’s promotion and bring his extensive knowledge to this expanded role,” said Michael Craciunoiu, vice president of safety, training, and workforce development at IEC. “His valuable connections and relationships with our member cooperatives will strengthen the program’s collaboration. His leadership and insight will continue to elevate the apprenticeship program and drive its ongoing success.”

“Adam brings to this position a deep experience, broad knowledge of the electric utility industry, and a natural ability to connect with others,” said Chris Gearld, director of safety, training, and workforce development. “He has a genuine passion for helping others grow into strong line personnel and safety professionals. That commitment will continue to make a meaningful impact across our organization.”

Lock joined IEC in 2018 as a safety and risk management instructor. Before that, he worked at Northeastern REMC as a safety, training, and loss prevention coordinator and as a journeyman lineman. 

Lock earned an associate degree in applied science in utility line from Northeast Community College and is a graduate of REAP. He earned the certified loss control professional designation (CLCP), is a RELITE graduate, completed the Cooper/Eaton OCR maintenance and repair class, and holds an active class A CDL. Lock is also a certified fiber optic installer and is a certified Sentry insulating aerial device professional operator safety and Sentry digger derrick professional operator safety train the trainer. He is a First Aid, AED, and CPR instructor and is an ATSSA-certified traffic worksite safety instructor.
