IEC named Matt Fearon program manager of safety, training, and workforce development.
In this role, he will support the safety, training, and workforce development department by coordinating and standardizing program operations, managing learning and compliance systems, and ensuring efficient, consistent processes across all department functions.
“Matt’s experience and skill in emergency planning and management will introduce new systems and structures that will help us best maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of our safety training programs,” said Michael Craciunoiu, vice president of safety, training, and workforce development at IEC. “His expertise will strengthen our operations and enhance the value we provide to our members.”
Fearon was most recently a planner with IEM Consulting, where he supported preparedness projects for public jurisdictions and private industry across the U.S. He also served in similar roles for Marion County Emergency Management, State of Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, Hagerty Consulting, and Hamilton County Emergency Management.
Fearon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in geography and a Master of Science degree in water, energy, and the environment from Liverpool John Moores University and a Master of Arts degree in emergency and disaster management from American Public University. He also holds graduate certificates in hazard mitigation and restoration, emergency management, and emergency management executive leadership from American Public University. He completed the FEMA professional development series and is a FEMA master continuity practitioner.
