Cathy Raderstorf is the CEO of Carroll-White REMC.
What is your philosophy on meetings?
Always provide an agenda (purpose for the meeting), a start and end time that you adhere to, active engagement, and end with clear action items.
What is your lunch routine?
I’m a brown bagger and bring my lunch pretty much every day.
How do you wind down after work?
I like to exercise when I get home, especially on days when I do a lot of sitting. My general form of exercise is running. After supper, I also have a friend I frequently walk with. Having social connections outside of work is important.
What’s a skill you’d love to learn if you had the time?
I have always thought it would be nice to learn a second language. I admire those in our office who make it look easy.
Tell us about your pets.
Growing up, my family always had a dog, and that didn’t change when I got married, as we have had several dogs over the years. Now, my daughters have dogs too, and we are on their boarding list. In 2021, CWREMC started a new tradition of “bring your dog to work” on Fridays. We only allow one dog at a time, and it has been very popular.
What have you learned about leading that you’d like to pass on?
Through my CEO Roundtable training at IEC, I learned that effective leaders can inspire change, create momentum, and empower their teams to achieve more than they thought possible. Leadership is a journey, not a destination.
